On Saturday July 17, Jogging headline Castlebar’s only independent, underground, original, alternative night out—Finbar Hoban Presents.

Kelly’s Bar and Venue opened its doors in July of last year, but only now have the final touches been added. The mirrors have been hung, the pheasant has been stuffed, the beer taps well and truly tested so Kelly’s is now ready to launch. The official launch party takes place tomorrow Friday February 26 kicking off at 9pm. To celebrate, Kelly’s has lined up music on two floors from two bands and four DJs and lots of giveaways. Entry is free and early arrivals will get a complimentary drink.

Waterford group Percolator came to Bar Ritz last Friday night as part of the ever-growing Finbar Hoban Presents… series with support from Black Robots. Since the show started nearly a year ago the series has seen each night represent a different theme in music, last Friday night saw a almost shoe gazing indie late eighties disco and early nineties grunge theme.

Adebisi Shank is an electric, energetic loud band from Wexford. Taking their cue from acts such as Battles, Oxes and Lite, their debut LP This is the album of a band called Adebisi Shank shines through with rays of inventiveness that would teach a few of their contemporaries a thing or two in the art of writing, without ever leaning into the self indulgent persuasions many have fallen ill to when attempting this sort of art noise.
